Ellie: Granby, My daddy made me a "Just because I Love you day" cake last night. :(

Me: Oh wow, That's great!

Ellie: No, no, no, it's not!

It's not my birthday!

It's not even Christmas!

I didn't want a "Just because I Love you Day" cake!

 

Ellie: But Granby......if you want to get me a "Just because I Love you Day" present,

That will be Okay!

The Wal-Mart Curse

Yep...I have it. The dreaded Wal-mart curse. I'm sure a lot of you have it too. Not sure? Well....pay close attention to the symptoms listed for you...

Symptoms:* The feeling of absolute fear and anxiety washes over you the moment you realize you have   to go to Wal-mart on a Saturday.

* The inability to stay away from the chocolate covered marshmallow eggs on the Easter isle.

*Anger and frustration  builds up in the pharmacy from waiting on your medicine for high -blood pressure so much so that you need to call your Dr. and ask him to increase the dosage before you leave.

*Your eyes will play tricks on you, the list you left the house with will start to grow longer and longer,

and finally...no matter how hard you try, you are unable to walk out UNDER  $100.00. I've tried and I just can't do it...but, I came close tonight

I will beat this!

When the devil attacks!

After the Fair, I took Ellie and Gabe back to my house so that they could go potty and get "un-sticky"

before I took them home.

Ellie came upstairs, went potty then Gabe came up after.

I told Gabe that he needed to potty but he said that he didn't have to...he stood there for a minute , looked up at me and said, "Well...I do have to poop" . So he sat down on the toilet and I went into my room to get something, came back out and he was still sitting there. He was bent over with his elbows on his legs and his head in his hands and this is the following conversation:

Gabe: I hate the world!

Me: Why do you hate the world?

Gabe: Because the world has the devil in it and he makes bad things happen!

Me: Oh Baby, what has the devil done to you?

Gabe: Well. for one thing...He won't let me poop!

For the love of pineapple

Pineapple is my favorite fruit and Fresh pineapple is to die for!

I've finally perfected the art of cutting a pineapple and it's so simple.

If you're like me, I use to think that the outside is so daunting to look at that it was'nt worth the trouble to try to cut one....But I was oh so wrong!

It's totally worth it!

First twist off the top



Then cut in half

Next...quarter it





Next cut in eighths





Now the messy part.... cut the core off of each piece

Cut off the outside skin
