A few quips from Cami.

Cami and Max came over tonight. Max is getting older and spends his time concentrating on the computer or movies, therefor he is usually quieter, so Cami talks enough for the two of them.

For your enjoyment:

**Cami was very excited when she got to my house and saw a "Chick-monk" in the front yard.

**While in Bi-lo, I asked her if she wanted chicken for supper, She said "Nah, that's disgusting, chicken smells like a dumpster"

**While in the car she says, " Aunt B, I wish I was an alien, so I could play DVD's in my head"

**She wanted me to buy deviled eggs for supper, so I stupidly asked, "Do you like Deviled eggs?"
Cami shook her head and said, "no, but their sooo cute"

Mixed Nuts

I don't know about you, but the last place I want my husband with me is in the Grocery Store, and he knows it! I tend to buy more than usual because he is adding to my cart. Today was a perfect example of what I mean. Sam went with me to Wal-mart so that I could pick up a few things, we have just returned from Alabama and I told him that money would be tight for a few days, but I still needed a few things. As soon as we walked in the door, I went toward the grocery section and he waved at me and said "I'll see you in a minute" and headed in the other direction. Ten minutes later he returned with a pack of boxer shorts. I just looked at him and he immediately whipped out his wallet, and with a sigh, handed me $10. Much to his surprise...I took it!

For the next 10 minutes, THIS was our conversation:

Sam- "we need some mixed nuts"

Me- "no we don't, they're too high in calories"

Sam-" I thought you said nuts were good for you"

Me- " Regular unsalted walnuts are, but salty mixed nuts are very high in calories"

Sam -" Where are the mixed nuts?"

Me- "we don't need any mixed nuts, we have plenty of walnuts" (He likes to make his own trail mix)

Sam- " you just don't want to eat any so you don't want me to"

Then he remembers that he needs deodorant, so after another ten minutes of trying to determine the best brand, he finally chooses and we head toward the check out. As we're walking down the aisle he suddenly looked at me and said, "I never did find any mixed nuts"!!!!!

Driving home, I'm feeling kinda bad about the mixed nuts, but he seems okay with it and we're talking and laughing about things, so I figure....it's over. We get home and he's helping me put the groceries up and I pull a bag of dried mixed berries ( which he loves to put in his trail mix) out and to make him feel good I say " Look I got you some dried mixed berries"!. He looked very pleased and smiled, then said,

"Thanks, but they're not really that good without the mixed nuts"

My Stubborn Grandchild

Josh and Kelly had an ultrasound today with hopes of finding out if we have a little boy or girl, but....wouldn't you know it, he/she wouldn't turn or uncross their legs. They e-mailed a couple more pictures and if I can get them to post I will. You can really tell that he/she has grown.

Kelly said that the Dr. was pleased and everything was progressing normal.

Stubborn- sounds like a little boy to me.

Fair Play

I was just visiting the Kosmicki family blog, (link at the bottom) and I got to remembering how much fun we used to have at the fair. But...Fairs are different today. There's mostly rides and games. Oh, but we had all of those things too, and I bet my Mom just loved the thought of another goldfish being brought home! But...we also had the "Sideshows". I can remember paying 50 cents to see the worlds smallest man (he was preserved in a jar). I also remember paying to see pictures of what happens to your hand or leg when bitten by a Brown Recluse Spider or a Rattlesnake. But some were just too gross or I was too young to see.

The one I remember the most that I was not able to see ( too young ) was "supposedly" a film of a man giving birth through his head.

THAT...I'd pay to see today!

I know it's because I was small but the Fair seemed to be HUGE. It would take a couple of hours to go up one side and down the other. And the food! Who could walk out without a candied apple or Cotton Candy? Of course when your 12 or 13, the main reason to go to the Fair was the Boys.
By that age it was more fun to be seen than to see the sites.

I also remember that as I got older(14-17) the coolest thing to do was to go to the "Midnight Madness" on Friday night. At midnight for one price you got a band around your wrist that would let you ride all the rides. Everybody went, it was the talk of the week. After the football game, we all piled into cars and went to the fair....did I say WE? Do you think MY parents would let me go "un-supervised" to a fair after Midnight? Get Real!

I did get to go 1 and only 1 time. My friend Leslie talked her Mom into taking us.

I was a Senior!

We had a blast, and of course my boyfriend (Sam) just happened to be there.

But shhhh.....I don't think my Mom knows.

Dreamland

Have you ever had dreams that you'll never forget? Me too! Well...have you ever had a dream of one of those dreams? Well...I did. Before I tell you the dream, promise me that you won't go analyzing me.

When I was a child (12- 13), I dreamed that Jesus came to me and pointed up to the Sun, then held it in his hands and placed to my far left and said "When the sun gets here, (pointing to my right) then that's the time for me to come back, so get ready" Well, I was baptised the next day.

I've always remembered that dream as vividly as the night I had it. Last night I dreamed that I was asleep, and I was having "the dream". I didn't actually re-dream it, I just knew that was what I was dreaming.

Maybe this Dream is meant to be remembered , lest we forget....
Matthew 24:42 (King James Version)

Busted!...sorta

Well....I'll start off by saying that I Love the new "Hairspray" movie, I like it so much that I've seen it twice at the theater, which is something I never do. But it was the second time around that did me in. While in Alabama, the girls (my nieces, daughter-in-law and sister) decided that they wanted to have a night out, again. (the last night out we had was to see "Hairspray" the first time). Audrey was really wanting to see "Becoming Jane" and so we all agreed. The girls were the first ones in the theater to grab our seats. They chose to sit so close that I had to lean my head back to see, well...I can't deal with that, so I decided to go up to the top row and my sister decided to join me. Then I don't know what exactly happened but I suddenly got so sleepy ( it didn't help that the movie was interfering with my Sunday afternoon nap). It also didn't help that the movie starts off very, very slow, not to mention that the dialect was in a heavy British accent. After sitting there for a while, I turned to my sister and suggested that we sneak out and go see another movie, she agreed. So, we devised a plan. She would leave first and I would follow ( we had to walk right behind the girls). My Sister leaves with no problem so I follow, I really don't know what I was thinking but I tip toed the whole way out and crouched way down for fear of detection. Finally, we're sitting down enjoying "Hairspray" again, laughing like crazy because we think we got away with something sneaky.

Movie's over and I'm the first one out. The first person I see when I walk out is a security guy with three other theater employees. My heart jumps in my throat when he asks me, "Are you alone?",... about that time my sister walks out. He looks at her and asks, "Are you two together?". Suddenly I felt 5 years old again and caught with my hand in the cookie jar. I stammered out, "Yes, we're together", don't get me wrong, I love my sister but right now all I'm thinking is, "I ain't going down by myself". Right about the time I'm getting up the courage to grovel, he sticks out his hand and gives me a ticket for a free movie pass, which by this time everybody is coming out and they're ALL getting passes. Good Grief!! Next time I go to a movie, I'm staying put, no matter how bad it is.

Computer woes

I just can't figure it out! My computer has absolutely gone crazy. Yes....I've checked for viruses and there were quite a few, but my Charter Security Suite cleaned it right up. All I know is, when I left for Alabama, everything was working fine. I came home to a computer that won't let me download my pictures or video. It won't even recognize my camera. I've removed programs and re-installed them exactly the way my trouble shooter tells me to, and it still won't work. The next error pop up I get will probably look like this.

And this is the way I feel about having to call someone for their "help".

Maybe this is the one I should adhere to!

Stress Test

The picture below are used to test the level of stress a person can handle. The slower the pictures move, the better your ability of handling stress. Alleged criminals that were tested see them spinning around madly; however, senior citizens and kids see them standing still.

FYI ... None of these images are animated - they are perfectly static!

The Ole "Switch-a-roo"

While I was in Alabama this weekend,My sister and I went through some clothes that the girls had out grown. I knew that Cami could wear a lot of them so I bagged them up and headed back to SC with a van full. Now...in those bags were the normal shorts, shirts, dresses etc.., But, there were also many dance and Halloween costumes. Needless to say...Cami was in seventh heaven.

Cami's the type of 5 year old that thinks she's 16, so...the flashier...the better. While going through the clothes, Cami was modeling....not the shorts and shirts, but the rhinestone studded skirts and halters.

Susie (her mom) picked out the cutest blue jean skirt and white shirt that had cherries on it for Cami to wear to school the next day....and she did. BUT...when her dad picked her up that afternoon, Cami was sporting a hot pink mini skirt trimmed with black netting and a halter top. It seems that there was more than kindergarten papers in her book bag that morning.

Stupid Computer!!!

Sorry, I'll post more soon. I'm having trouble with my computer. It has decided not to recognize my camera, therefore, I can't download my pictures or videos. But...I'm working on it. I have a lot to "show and tell" from my latest trip to Alabama.

Check back later...
